Privacy Policy

Feathered is a static reference site: it does not ask you to register, it does not run a comment system, it does not sell anything, and it does not itself collect names, postal addresses or payment details.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Feathered is supported by advertising, and we use Google AdSense to serve it. Google, together with its partner vendors, is a third-party advertising vendor on this site. Third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve advertising based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites on the internet. An advertising identifier or device information may be used for the same purpose. Advertising you see here may therefore reflect interests inferred from your browsing, and not only the page you are reading.

Other third-party vendors and advertising networks may also collect information directly through the advertisements they serve, and their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies rather than by this one. We do not receive the personal data they collect, and we do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone. Any cookie that is strictly necessary for the site to function is used only to deliver the page you asked for.

Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes the advertising you see less relevant to your interests. If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or in a region with comparable rules, consent is requested through a consent message before non-essential cookies are set, and that choice can be changed or withdrawn at any time.

Your data protection rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over personal data relating to you. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, for the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland) these include the right to be informed, the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Feathered does not sell personal information. Server logs, children, and changes

The web server keeps ordinary access logs — IP address, requested page, referrer and user agent — for security and for diagnosing faults. They are used for no other purpose and are rotated and deleted on a routine schedule. Feathered is a general-audience reference site, is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
